宇宙航空研究開発機構(JAXA)と三菱重工業(MHI)は11月15日(木)、放射性物質の分布状況を可視化する「放射性物質見える化カメラ」のプロトタイプ機「ASTROCAM 7000」を共同開発したと発表しました。JAXA、MHIに名古屋大学を加えた開発チームが、科学技術振興機構(JST)の協力を受け、実用化に向けた開発に取り組んでいます。 ▽ JAXA|放射性物質を可視化する「放射性物質見える化カメラ」を開発 世界最先端の超広角コンプトンカメラをベースに ▽ 放射性物質を可視化する「放射性物質見える化カメラ」を開発|三菱重工 「ASTROCAM 7000」では、コンプトン散乱という現象を利用することで、放射線の飛来方向とそのエネルギー(波長)をリアルタイムで同時に測定できます。これにより、セシウム134やセシウム137、ヨウ素131など、ガンマ線を放出する放射性物質を識別。測定は20~30
