[2007年4月3日 01:24更新] EMI GroupがDRM(デジタル権利管理)技術の施されていない、より高音質な楽曲をAppleのiTunes Storeでまもなく販売する。 EMIが現地時間4月2日にプレスカンファレンスで発表したところによると、同社は取り扱っているデジタル楽曲のすべてを、iTunes StoreにおいてDRMフリーの形で提供開始するという。提供開始は5月の予定。 DRMフリーの楽曲は、PCやデジタルオーディオプレーヤーの種類を問わず再生できる。また、現在のiTunes Storeで販売されている、著作権保護付きのEMIの楽曲に取って代わるものではないと同社は述べる。これはむしろ、iTunes Storeで提供されてきた標準の音楽ダウンロードを補完するものであり、従来の楽曲は1曲99セントで販売されたのに対し、こちらは1ドル29セントに料金が設定されている。 これ
