ソニーと東芝はそれぞれ、政府が円高対策として設けた海外企業のM&A(合併・買収)を支援するための融資枠を活用し、合わせて14億ドル(約1100億円)を調達する。国際協力銀行(JBIC)からメガバンクを通じ、買収資金の一部をドル建てで借り入れる。長期資金を低利で調達することで、買収に伴う調達コストを抑える。両社は同融資枠の活用第1号となる。ソニーは英携帯電話会社、ソニー・エリクソンの完全子会社化
