Python ASCII plots in terminal

With Octave I am able to plot arrays to the terminal, for example, plotting an array with values for the function x^2 gives this output in my terminal: 10000 ++---------+-----------+----------+-----------+---------++ ++ + + + + ++ |+ : : : : +| |++ : : : : ++| | + : : : : + | | ++ : : : : ++ | 8000 ++.+..................................................+.++ | ++ : : : : ++ | | ++ : : : : ++ | | + :
