MozillaとSamsung、Android向け新レンダリングエンジン「Servo」を発表
米Mozillaは4月3日（現地時間）、韓国Samsung Electronicsとの提携により開発したAndroidとARM向け新Webレンダリングエンジン「Servo」を発表し、Githubで公開した。 Servoは、次世代のマルチコアの高速なコンピューティングアーキテクチャに対応するために、Webブラウザを土台から再構築するための新エンジンという。Mozillaが開発したプログラミング言語「Rust」で構築されている。Rustは、並列処理アプリの構築に向く言語で、同日バージョン0.6にアップデートされ、AndroidとARMをサポートした。 MozillaのWebブラウザFirefoxのレンダリングエンジンは、デスクトップ版、モバイル版ともに現在はGeckoを採用している。モバイル版FirefoxにServoを採用するかどうかは不明だ。SamsungからはまだServoについての公式
