Jitbitブログによると、中国との国境に近いロシアの街で、このようなUSBハードディスクが「故障した」と持ち込まれることが増えているのだとか。この500GのSamsung製(と思わせる)USBハードディスク、中国側の街で「驚くほど安く」買ってきたものらしいのですが、たとえば映画のファイルをコピーしても、保存した映画が最後の5分しか再生されないとか、謎の症状がでるということ。修理を依頼されたロシアの店は、もうこのドライブを何個も持ち込まれていることがわかりました。ドライブを開けてみると、中にはハードディスクが入っておらず、代わりに128MbytesしかないUSBメモリーが差さっているのだとか(図の下) どうやら、このUSBメモリー、パソコンにさされたら自分が「500GBの容量があるように」見せる機能を持っているようです。さらに、一定以上のファイルをコピーしようとして容量が足りなくなると
