今回は、実例というより、実際の誤用例に関連しての投稿。もちろん実例もつけるが、しばらくは「誤用」の話になるので読むのが嫌になる人もいるかもしれない。 7月6日、日本のある大学のオープンキャンパスの告知ポスターだという画像をTwitterで見かけた。すでにその元画像を含むツイートは元の投稿者によって削除されているようなので参照できないのだが、「オープンキャンパスに参加する」という意気込みを示しているように見える男女(高校生?)の写真が使われていて、その男子の口から、手書き文字調のフォントで、"Be offensive" というフレーズが飛び出しているような感じのデザインだった。 日本語話者で、なおかつ普通に英語を使ってる人たちは「何が言いたいんだ?」と目を白黒。というか、日本語を母語として外国語としての英語を習得してきた人たちにはわかってるんだけどね、何が言いたくてそういう言葉を選択したかは
