米食品大手キャンベル・スープは２０日、高級チョコレート事業の「ゴディバ・ショコラティエ」をトルコの企業ユルドゥス・ホールディングに８億５０００万ドル（約９６０億円）で売却することで合意したと発表した。 ユルドゥスはイスタンブールのトルコ食品最大手ウルカル・グループの親会社。ウルカルは菓子から飲料品、乳製品まで幅広く手掛け、２００６年の売上高が７４億３０００万ドルだった。 キャンベルはスープやスナック、野菜飲料に集中する経営戦略とゴディバがそぐわないとして、事業撤退を含め対応策を探っていた。同日付の米紙ウォールストリート・ジャーナル（電子版）によると、キャンベルは８〜１０月期決算が特にゴディバの販売宣伝費や経費がかさんだため不振だったという。（ニューヨーク 共同）
