米Googleが、初の自社ブランドスマートフォン「Nexus One」を米国時間5日から発売した。Googleブランドのスマートフォンとして注目を集めるNexus Oneを入手したので、早速レビューしてみよう。 Nexus One iPhoneより軽く薄いNexus One Nexus Oneは最新のAndroid 2.1を搭載し、HTCが端末を製造している。やや丸みを帯びたデザインと下部のトラックボールはHTCらしいデザインと言えるだろう。 International CES 2010取材のため、Nexus One発表当日の5日(米国時間)に米国に到着したので、思わず注文してしまった Webサイトから申し込むと、FedExで2日後に到着――となっていたので、ホテルの部屋を届け先に。周囲からは「チャレンジング」との声多数。しかし、無事に7日の午前中に到着したのがこの箱 化粧箱は細長くコンパ
さて、お待ちかねのNexus Oneの使用レポートである。 今回私が買ったのは、SIMフリー版($529)。 他に、T-Mobile契約をしたモデル($179)も有り、こちらは価格が安い代わりに2年間のT-Mobileとの契約が必要となっている。 ちなみにこのモデルでもSIMフリーなので、購入後に他の携帯会社のSIMをさして使うことが可能だ。 私は手元にあるSoftbankのiPhone用黒SIMを刺して使用してみた。 もちろん、問題なく認識し、通話も可能だ。 さて、待ち受け画面だ。 見てもわかるように、右上にローミングしているAT&Tの文字と、下にSIM供給元のSoftbankの文字が表示されている。 これはこれでなんとなくカッコいい。わたしの今、いるところはアメリカなので、このようにローミング先キャリアが表示されるが、国内ならばSoftbankだけになると思われる。 気がついた人もいる
