「Battlefield」シリーズが10周年。それを記念して「Battlefield 1942」がOriginで無料配布中 ライター：奥谷海人 Electronic Artsは，「Battlefield」シリーズの第1作となる「Battlefield 1942」の誕生から10年を迎えたことを記念して，Battlefield 1942の無料配布を実施中だ。Electronic Artsのデジタル配信システム「Origin」では「デモ」と記載されているが，デモではなく完全なゲームソフトが入手可能となっている。 この無料配布は2013年3月1日まで続けられる予定で，製品版がこれほど長い期間，無料で配布されるのは珍しいことだろう。このほか，公式サイトの告知ページにはFAQなどが用意されているので，詳しくはそちらを参照してほしい。ちなみに，Originの設定が日本語なら，日本語でのプレイも可能だ。
