日本が舞台のゲーム「アサシンクリードシャドウズ」が、大炎上していますね。先に結論を言うと、これはアジア人差別的なビデオゲームです。私はこのゲームのファンなので、とても残念な気持ちです。この問題は、シリーズを知らない人にはわかりにくいので、順に説明していきますね。 この問題を理解する鍵は、欧米におけるアジア人男性に対するステレオタイプ、「白人の救世主」という概念、Ubisoftの制作陣が言った「私たちの侍(our samurai)」という言葉です。 なお、ここで「アジア人」と書いてある場合、それは東アジア人のことを言います。 アサシンクリード(Assassin's Creed)とは？ アサシンクリードは、歴史の裏で暗躍する暗殺者になって、歴史上の人物から無名のモブキャラまで、人を殺しまくるゲームです。残酷なシーンや大人のロマンスシーンがあるので、年齢制限が設けられています。 これまで、ルネッ
最近Xでよく見るので、自分が消耗しないためにも所感をメモっておく そもそもの問題日本が舞台のゲームで、あえて黒人を主人公になっている。最初期に問題になっていたのは2点だと理解している 文化盗用なのでは、という指摘 個人的には、これはやや無理筋な気がしている。文化盗用というと、支配的な文化圏のメンバーが被支配的な文化を奪う、という文脈で批判されるものだと理解しているけど（Wikipedia見ただけだけど）、そういう意味では別に被支配的な関係ではないと思うし、今回は実在した人物なので（誇張はあれど）大きな問題ではないと思っている 弥助が侍か侍でないか、という議論はここが出発点なのかな、とは思う。個人的には侍の定義自体が確立しておらず、織田信長に気に入られて活躍した、という描き方は別に良いのでは、と思う Asian men erasure (主に欧米のメディアにおいてアジア人男性が扱われない問題
