利用しているパソコンが、Windows7の「Windows XP Mode」で利用できるかをチェックするツールVirtualCheckerの紹介です。
Microsoftは、OEMや関係各社に、次期OS「Windows Vista(Longhorn:ロングホーン)」のβ2のスケジュール変更を通知。β2を4月にスキップさせる代わりに、β2の段階ではコードを大きくはいじらないようにすることで、10月リリースを実現しようと急ぎ始めた。「β2を遅らせて完成度を高めることで、β2を事実上RC0(Release Candidate:出荷候補)として、スケジュールを守る計画だ」とある業界関係者は語る。 MicrosoftがオンスケジュールでWindows Vistaのローンチを進める方針を明確にしたため、ハードウェアベンダーもWindows Vista対応ハードを2006年春までに揃えようと急ぎ始めた。Microsoft側も、2006年4月頃からは、Windows Vistaに対応できるハードに対するロゴプログラム、通称“Vista Ready”も開始
