Appleは、iPad™を発売後最初の一週間で50万台以上出荷いたしましたが、予想をはるかに超える需要があり、より多くのお客様がiPadを実際に手に取って見られる中、今後数週間にわたって私どもの供給能力を超える需要があるものと思われます。また、iPad 3Gモデルにつきましても、4月末の納期分に対し数多くのご予約をいただいております。 このような驚くべき米国内での強い需要に直面し、iPadの米国外での発売時期を1ヶ月延長して5月末とするという困難な決断をいたしました。5月10日 (月) に、米国外での販売価格を発表し、オンラインでの予約受け付けを開始いたします。iPadの発売を待ち望まれていた米国外の多くのお客様には、このニュースに失望されることと思いますが、iPadがかくも米国で大成功を収めているという発売延期の理由を聞いてご了解いただけることを希望いたします。
