米Googleは米国時間2010年7月12日、同社のモバイルプラットフォーム「Android」に対応したモバイルアプリケーションを開発するためのツール「App Inventor」のベータ版を発表した。プログラミングの知識がなくても手軽にAndroid搭載機向けのアプリケーションを作成できるとしている。数週間以内に招待制の一般向け提供を開始する。 App Inventorでは、ユーザーはコードを記述するのではなく、「ボタン」「画像」「パスワード入力欄」などのパーツを使って視覚的にデザインし、「情報を保存」「繰り返し」といった動作要素(ブロック)を使ってアプリケーションの動作を設計できる。 GPS対応機能も提供するため、位置情報ベースのアプリケーションを構築することが可能。Android搭載機のテキスト読み上げ機能と連動したアプリケーションも作成できる。Webアプリケーションを書く知識があれば
UPDATE 米国時間9月10日午前、Motorolaが同社初のGoogle Androidデバイス「Motorola CLIQ」を発表した。サンフランシスコで開催されたMobilize 09カンファレンスにおいて、Motorolaの最高経営責任者(co-CEO)Sanjay Jha氏が、後に登壇したT-Mobileの最高技術責任者(CTO)兼最高情報責任者(CIO)とともに、端末を披露した。 CLIQは「Morrison」という名の下で長らく噂になっていた。今秋、年末商戦を目の前にしてT-Mobileから発売の予定。色はチタニウムとウィンターホワイトの2色。2010年には「Motorola DEXT」という名称でグローバル展開する。残念ながら(Morrisonとともに発表が噂された)「Motorola Sholes」は今回披露されなかったが、数週間のうちに同社2台目のAndroidフォン
