Wal-Martが販売していたDRM認証サーバの運用を停止するということで、DRM付きMP3ファイルを買っていた消費者がファイルの転送等ができなくなってしまうということが、ちょっと問題になっています(関連記事)。Wal-Martは、DRMサーバの遮断前にCD-Rにコピーすることで対応せよと言っているようですが、「リファンドしろ」という声もあるようです。 Wal-Martがどうするのかはわかりませんが、これを見て思うのは米国ではDRMフリーの音楽配信が当たり前になってしまったんだなあということです。 昨年の2月にスティーブジョブズが「DRM不要論」を提唱した時は、「そんなことをしたら違法コピーが蔓延して音楽産業は壊滅する」とか「DRMを廃止できないのとわかっていてのジョブズの詭弁である」というような意見がありました(私も後者の立場でブログ・エントリーを書いたりしました)。 それから1年ちょっ
