茂手木秀行【連載】フォトグラファーのためのデジタルワークフロー:第4回 デジタルフォトは機材選びから始まる 画素数とセンサーサイズの関係 昨今のデジタルカメラの進歩は目覚ましく、最も目に見えるかたちでは画素数の増大が挙げられますが、果たして画素数はどこまで必要なのでしょうか? 今回は、デジタルカメラの画素数や画像解像度について考察します。 上の図は、実際に市場にあるデジタルカメラの画素数とセンサーのサイズを比べたものです。大きいほうはバック形式の3300万画素クラスで、センサーは48ミリ×36ミリ。長辺方向に6726個の画素、短辺方向に5046個の画素がある状態を表しています。これに対して小さいほうがAPS-Cサイズ、35ミリ版型デジタル一眼レフ1200万画素クラスのセンサーです。こちらのサイズは、23.7ミリ×15.7ミリ。長辺方向に4288個の画素、短辺方向に2848個の画素がある状態
