Microsoftは、「Silverlight」を活用して3D画像を表示したり、独自の道路視点画像を表示したりすることのできる「Bing Maps」のベータ版を発表した。 Microsoftは米国時間12月2日、同社サンフランシスコオフィスで開催のメディア向けプレゼンテーションにおいて、3日に実施する「Bing」向けの改良点を説明する中で、この新しいベータ版を発表した。「Bing Maps Beta」は、3日よりサービスの提供が開始され、Bingの検索結果でも複数の新機能の提供が同日より始まる予定だ。 Bing Maps Betaの利用には、衛星写真と道路視点の写真を3Dでスムーズに切り替えられるように、Silverlightが必要となる。Googleの「Street View」のように、これまでMicrosoftは、サンフランシスコなどの主要都市の道路を走行して、地図と連動する独自の画像
