標高がラサより高い街、理塘でチベットの鳥葬を見てきた。順序はまずマニ石を死者の頭上に置いて、立てた杭に首を縛る。服をはぎ取って、体を俯せにする（こうすることで内臓が露呈することはない）。髪の毛をハサミで切り落とし、首の後ろからナイフを立てて頭皮を剥ぐ。次に背中に切込みを入れていく。脚へと移り切込みを入れていく。足裏部分を削ぎ取ってから、足の指の間にナイフで切込みを入れていく。次に腕に切込みを入れ、手指の間に切込みを入れる。死体解体人が死者から離れるとに横に控えているハゲタカがすぐに飛びかかって死肉をほふる。骨だけと化すので、それを石灰の粉を振掛けながら石の上で砕く。(意外にも反響があったので写真を追加しました)

これは、増山たづ子さんの写真集「故郷 〜私の徳山村写真日記」（株式会社じゃこめてい出版 1983年）をもとに、旧徳山村の様子を紹介するものです。 徳山村は、ダムの建設に伴って水没する466戸がすべてが移転し、1987年4月に藤橋村に編入されました。増山たづ子さん（旧徳山村戸入出身、大正６年生まれ）は、60歳を過ぎてから、ふるさと旧徳山村の写真を撮り続けてきました。その写真には、旧徳山村の人々の暮らしや自然が生き生きと描かれています。 使用した写真は、増山たづ子さんと株式会社じゃこめてい出版のご承諾をいただき、写真集から転載させていただきました。快くご承諾いただきましたことについて、ここに心から感謝の意を表します。
