Amazon.comは米国時間11月19日、「Kindle」の電子書籍を贈り物にできるサービスを開始した。同社によるとこうしたサービスは大手書店として初めてで、ホリデーシーズンに合わせた提供開始となった。 Amazonは、「電子メールのアドレスがあれば誰にでも贈ることができ、Kindleを所有している必要はない」と説明している。これまでにも繰り返し書いたように、Kindleの電子書籍は、Amazonの無料Kindleアプリケーションをダウンロードすることで、MacやPCでも、「iPad」「iPod touch」「iPhone」「BlackBerry」や「Android」ベースのデバイスなど各種携帯端末でも読める（Barnes & NobleおよびBordersの電子書籍「Kobo」も携帯端末向けに無料アプリケーションを提供している）。 相手がすでに持っている電子書籍を贈った場合にどうなるか
