IANA(Internet Assigned Numbers Authority)は2010年11月30日、未使用のIPv4アドレスブロックを4ブロック割り振った。これで未割り振りのIPv4アドレスは残り7ブロック、総アドレス数に占める割合は約2.7%となった。ただし、事実上の残りアドレスブロックは2ブロック(約0.78%)となる。未割り振りのIPv4アドレスブロックが残り5ブロックとなった段階で、世界に五つある地域インターネットレジストリー(AfriNIC、APNIC、ARIN、LACNIC、RIPE NCC)に各1ブロックを割り振ることになっているからだ。 IANAは2ブロック単位でIPv4アドレスを割り振ることが多い。そのため、今後少なければ1回、多くとも2回の割り振りが発生すれば、IANAが持つIPv4アドレスの在庫は枯渇すると予測される。 IANAが公開している「IANA IPv
