Japan's HTV cargo transporter orbiting Earth Japan's first unmanned cargo spacecraft is now orbiting the Earth at an altitude of about 300 kilometers. The H-2 Transfer Vehicle, or HTV, was launched from southern Japan early Friday on its first mission to the International Space Station.
