本章は最新安定版リリースがコード名: bookworm と言う前提で書かれています。 APT システムのデーターソースは本文書中では集合的にソースリストと表記されます。これは、"/etc/apt/sources.list" ファイルか、 "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.list" ファイルか、 "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.source" ファイルの中の何処かに定義されます。 Debian は、フリーソフトウェアーのコンパイル済みバイナリーパッケージからなる整合性あるディストリビューションを作り、そのアーカイブを通じてそれらを頒布するボランティア組織です。 Debian のアーカイブは、HTTP や FTP 法によるアクセスされるための多くのリモートのミラーサイトとして提供されています。それは、CD-ROM/DVD によっても提供されています。
