RasMol は有機化合物や生体高分子などの分子 構造を表示するフリーなプログラムです。 オリジナルプログラムが Roger Sayle 氏によって1993年に開発されて以来、多くの人々によって改良がなされ、いろいろなプラットフォーム上( Windows, Macintosh, VAX VMS, Unix, NEXTSTEP, Acorn Archimedes RISC OS など)で動くプログラムが存在しています。 現在、非常に多くの種類の分子構造表示プログラムが発表されていますが、RasMolほど多くのプラットフォームをサポートしているものはありません。 つまりRasMolの使い方を覚えれば、コンピュータが異なっても同じ操作で分子構造を表示することができるのです。 残念なことに、RasMolの操作はコマンド形式で入力するためグラフィックインターフェースに慣れた方には
