    中川元財務相の酩酊、辞任問題について、日本の大手メディアの報道内容と態度があまりにあまりなので、ちょっとまとめておきます。正直言って、中川さんは病気なんだからしかたない（早く治療しなよ）ということですが、マスコミのやり方はさすがに今回はちょっとひどいでしょ、と思うので。 問題１　当事者意識の欠如 一番最初にこの問題を日本のメディアが報道した時、新聞もテレビも「会見に臨んだ中川大臣がろれつが回らない様子であったことを、海外通信社がアップ画像で捉えて世界に配信し、世界各地で波紋が拡がっています。」というニュアンスで報道しました。 これ、なんなの？ 「中川大臣が会見で全くろれつが回っておらず、大変な失態を演じました。」でもなく、 「その前日は夜遅くまで某マスコミの記者と、また、会見直前には某新聞社の美人記者と飲んでいて、その結果、記者会見の時間には完全な酩酊状態になっていて、会見がまともに行えま

    A number of media reports had speculated that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Mr. Nakagawa, 55, denied that his behavior was due to "heavy drinking," saying he had drinks on the flight bound for Rome as well as at a G-7 luncheon.
