Mozilla、Firefoxのアドオンによる減速を回避する取り組みを発表
Mozillaは4月1日（現地時間）、Firefoxの起動速度を遅くするアドオンのワーストランキング公表をはじめとする拡張機能改善の取り組みを発表した。旧版より“6倍速い”とするFirefox 4を公開したMozillaは、Webブラウザの高速化に注力している。 Mozillaやサードパーティーが提供する豊富なアドオンはFirefoxの魅力の1つだが、Mozillaによると、Firefoxにアドオンを1つインストールすると、平均で10％起動スピードが遅くなるという。アドオンの中には70％以上遅くするものもある。そこで、アドオンによるFirefoxの減速を回避するために、以下の取り組みを行う。 性能テスト結果の発表：Mozillaのアドオンギャラリー上位100本に関して毎週性能テストを行い、ワーストランキングを公開する 開発者への警告：向こう2週間以内に、Firefoxの起動スピードを25％
