Quartz ComposerとはMac OS XのDeveloper Toolsに付属する開発ツールの一つ。フローチャートを作るかのように機能を持ったビジュアル作れるのが特徴です。私がこのツールに出会ったのはMac OS X 10.4が発売された当時で、その時のバージョンは2.0。「取り消し」が出来ないという市販ツールにはあり得ない完成度でしたが、新しい表現の可能性を感じるには十分な機能を持っていました。実際私は、それまでObjective-Cプログラミングで制作していた作品群を、短期間にすべてQuartz Composerで作り直したほどです。その制作過程は、ビジュアルデザインでありながらプログラミングであるという新鮮なものでした。 Mac OS X 10.6のリリースとともに、Quartz Composerのバージョンも4.0になりました。UIのデザインががらっと変わり、様々な機能が
