Google、URL短縮サービス「Google URL Shortener」を発表
TwitterユーザーにはおなじみのURL短縮サービスをGoogleが独自にスタートした。まずはGoogle ToolbarとFeedBurnerで利用できる。 米Googleは12月14日、独自のURL短縮サービス「Google URL Shortener」を発表した。同日リリースしたGoogle Toolbarの新版と、RSS管理サービスのFeedBurnerで利用できる。 URL短縮サービスは、長いURLをメールなどに記載する際に短いものに変換する機能で、140文字以内という制限のついたTwitterの流行で需要が高まった。現在bit.lyやTinyURLなど、多数のサービスがある。 Google Toolbarでは、新たに加わった「共有」機能でURL短縮サービスを使える。共有は表示しているページをSNSやTwitter、メールなどで共有するための機能。目的のページを表示したまま共有
