米Google, Inc.は16日(現地時間)、同社の写真共有サービス“Picasa ウェブ アルバム”と連携する多機能写真管理ソフト「Picasa」v3の日本語正式版となるv3.1.0 (ビルド 70.71.0)を公開した。v3の主な変更点は、“Picasa ウェブ アルバム”との連携機能や画像の修正・加工機能などが強化されたほか、ユーザーインターフェイスが改良され、使い勝手が大幅に向上したこと。 新機能としては、ローカルのフォルダやアルバムを“Picasa ウェブ アルバム”上のアルバムと自動で同期する機能や、写真の一部を周囲との境界線が目立たぬようにぼかしつつコピーして画像を修正できる“レタッチ”ツールが追加されたほか、写真を自由にレイアウトしたコラージュ画像の作成機能などが追加された。また、単一の画像閲覧向けの軽量画像ビューワー「Picasa Photo Viewer」が同梱された
