宮崎県都農町で27日、今冬では同県内3例目となる感染が確認されるなど、拡大に歯止めが掛からない鳥インフルエンザ。 家畜への感染1例目が出た直後の昨年12月、各都道府県が養鶏農家を調査したところ、野鳥の侵入を防ぐネットの不備などが多数、確認されていたことが分かった。農家からは「お金がかかり、完全な対応など無理」という声も出ており、十分な防疫体制の確立が、予想以上に難しい現実が浮き彫りになった。 埼玉県では、鶏舎の外で100羽以上の鶏を柵で囲んだだけで放し飼いにしている養鶏場が複数見つかった。県の担当者は「野鳥との接触で感染する恐れが高い」と顔をしかめる。 2007年に鳥インフルエンザが発生している岡山県では、県内の181戸の養鶏場のうち、70戸で不備があった。雪の重みで鶏舎の屋根が破損したり、つららが防鳥ネットを突き刺して破れたりするケースがあったという。
