ポータブルアプリケーションというと、ブラウザやメーラーといった具合にGUIアプリケーションが殆どだった。しかし時代はGUIアプリケーションからWebアプリケーションへと移り変わろうとしている。固定概念に囚われず、Webアプリケーションを持ち歩こう。今回紹介するオープンソース・ソフトウェアはWOS、各種Webアプリケーションを詰め込んだポータブルアプリケーションだ。WOSとは「Web server On Stck」の略になる。仕組みとしては、Apache+MySQL+PHP+ImageMagick 5をUSBメモリなどに入れられるよう、パッケージ化している。そこに、Drupal/Joomla/Knowledgeroot/Mambo/MediaWiki/Moodle/OS Commerce/phpMyAdmin/PunBB/Typo3/WordPressといったWebアプリケーションを追加
