'Currently, only 250,000 hectares of agricultural land is being irrigated using surface water, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock. Afghanistan has around 15 million hectares of agricultural land but due to lack of irrigation systems, much of it remains uncultivated.'
