Observing Ramadan
Muslim faithful throughout the world are currently observing the holy month of Ramadan. Observant Muslims participate in fasting (sawm), one of the five pillars of their faith, this entire Lunar month (this year it extends from September 1st to the 30th). Eating, drinking, smoking and sexual activity is prohibited from dawn until sunset, when the fast is broken with the evening meal called Iftar.

MUJI AWARD 02 今年も世界中からたくさんのご応募ありがとうございました。 テーマは「RE」。私達も毎日毎日これを考え続ける仕事をしています。世界中のできるだけ多くの人々に共感・納得して頂ける「！」を捜して。そんな私たちから見ても楽しめる作品が多く、審査中はワクワクします。しかし、無印良品に押し付けやこじつけはご法度です。その意味で今回は金賞1点と審査員賞3点という結果になりましたが、金賞の「その次があるバスタオル」は私たちが一番くやしかった作品でした。実はタオルの生産工程ではタオルはこの様な形をしています。又、モノを大切に使うという現在の私たちの生活様式からもすばらしく、くやしい作品でした。 「おめでとうございます！」 そして改めてご参加頂きましたすべての皆様に感謝申し上げます。 （株式会社良品計画 代表取締役専務 商品本部長） 審査風景 In the two and one-
