能登半島地震で段ボール製の簡易住宅「インスタントハウス」が大活躍している。組み立ては15分、原価は約1万円で、屋根と扉、窓もついた小さな「家」だ。被災地の子供は「体育館におうちができた」と話しているという。インスタントハウスはどうやって生まれたのか。開発した名古屋工業大学の北川啓介教授に、フリーライターの川内イオさんが取材した――。 ■絵本に描かれた家のなかにいるような非現実感 元日に起きた大地震の影響で、およそ600人の被災者が身を寄せる石川県輪島市の市立輪島中学校。雪が積もるその中庭に、不思議な形の建物がたたずんでいた。モンゴルの遊牧民が暮らす移動式住居「ゲル」のようにも見えるし、卵の卵白を泡立てたメレンゲのようにも見える。 この建物は、「インスタントハウス」という。考案したのは、名古屋工業大で教授を務める建築家、北川啓介さん。1月2日から被災地で被災者支援にあたっている彼が建てたもの
