なぜ、Facebookは、いとも簡単にキャズムを超えてしまうのだろうか? Facebookがここまで巨大になった理由は、当然ながら単純ではない。(1)APIを公開することで大量のアプリを集め、ソーシャルゲームというビッグヒットを得たこと。(2)Facebookページ(旧名称ファンページ)によって、企業やアーティストが自ら集客するシステムをつくったこと。(3)Twitterのステイタスアップデイト機能をうまく取り込んだこと。(4)高度なシステム技術によりリアルタイムでアクティブな操作感を実現していることなど。これまで、Facebookが、その類まれなる創造力と技術力を駆使して弛まぬサービス改善を続けてきたことが、大いなる差別化要因となっていることは間違いないところだ。 ただし、Facebook普及の根源的な要素は、やはり「実名制」にあると筆者は考えている。日本の特殊性を語られる際に必ず出て来

もともとアメリカ時間の今日あがったMashableの記事を紹介しようと思ったら、その前のFacebookに関するデータを見つけてしまったので2つの記事を紹介します。Facebookがいよいよ日本でもきた感じはみんな実感としてあると思うので、そんなFacebookに関する調査結果。 1,500人のFacebookユーザを調査したところ、米国のオンライン消費者の38%がFacebookでブランドを”Like”したことがあるそう。平均的なファンは、だいたい9つくらいのブランドを”Like”している。とはいえ、”Like”したからといって、必ずしもプロモーションを受け入れますよ、欲しいですよということにはならない。以前の調査では、”Like”=プロモーションを受け取る、とは考えないユーザが70%いるという結果が。 では、ユーザがFacebookでブランドを”Like”するモチベーションはどこにある
■ 最近のfacebookの盛り上がりは児玉太郎支社長暗躍の成果(たぶん) ここ数日、毎日のようにfacebookへの友だち申請がガンガン来るようになっていて、けっこう鬱陶しい賑やかなんだけど、どうやら日本のソフトウェア技術者コミュニティに、本格的に普及し始めたようだ。 起爆剤になった記事は「フェイスブックがはじまりそうな件」だと思うのだけど、実はGoogleトレンドなんかでは9月ごろから動きが見え始めていたし、実際の仕込みはもっと前にあったはずだ。1ヶ月も前にfacebookを本格的に使い始めたおれが言うんだから間違いない(笑)。 で、おれのきっかけというのが上の記事でも書いているとおり、都内某所で行われたセミナーなのだけど、ここでfacebookの紹介をしたのが日本支社country growth managerの児玉太郎氏だ。これまでも何度かfacebookに関する紹介は見たけれど、
