  NECは2017年11月15日、IoT向け無線通信技術LPWAの一方式であるLoRaWANに対応する「ネットワークサーバー」を製品化し、12月に通信事業者に提供開始すると発表した。 ネットワークサーバーはLoRaWANの構成要素の一つで、通信制御などを実施する。NECの新製品は、通信事業者の様々なサービス提供形態を想定しており、通信事業者が1台のネットワークサーバーで複数の企業にLoRaWANのサービスを提供したり、1台のIoTデバイスを複数の企業が共有したりすることが可能だ。また、LoRaWANを活用するアプリケーションと連携可能なWeb APIを備えており、IoTデバイスから収集したデータを容易に活用できる。 このネットワークサーバーは、大井電気をはじめとする複数のLoRaWAN対応ゲートウエイ（LoRaWANにおいて基地局に相当）との接続検証を完了している。NECはこれらと組み合わせ
