衛星リモートセンシング技術を用いて米国トウモロコシ単位収量を広域把握する（農業環境技術研究所）
［要約］ 高頻度観測衛星センサ(MODIS)によって観測された植生指数(WDRVI)のトウモロコシ絹糸抽出期7～10日前の値が単位面積あたりの子実収量と高い相関関係を示すことを発見し、アメリカコーンベルトのトウモロコシ単位収量を精度よく広域的に推定するリモートセンシング技術を開発しました。 ［背景と目的］ 2012年に米国コーンベルトで発生した干ばつは、記録的なトウモロコシの不作(生産量 前年比12.8%減)を引き起こしました。日本は、加工食品原料・家畜飼料用のトウモロコシの大半を米国から輸入しています。そのことから、我が国の食料安全保障を強化する上で、米国産トウモロコシの作況を独自に監視・評価するための衛星情報分析技術の重要性が高まっています。そこで、米国におけるトウモロコシの単位収量を広域把握するための衛星リモートセンシング技術の開発を目指して研究を行いました。 ［成果の内容］ 高頻度
