今更ながらの感もありますがVM Roleはじめました。 必要な環境は以下の通り。無料で環境を構築できるWebRole/WorkerRoleに比べるとすこしハードルが高いでしょうが、TechNetやMSDNなどをお持ちであれば、検証環境は容易に構築できると思います。 必要な環境 Hyper-Vを構築できる環境 Windows 2008 R2 英語版のインストールイメージ(ISO) 今のところ、Win2008R2英語版のみのサポートですが、いずれWin2003/2008 もサポートされる予定であるとPDC10では、言っていました。 エディションの縛りとしては、特に記述がみあたらないのですが、Standardもしくは、Enterpriseでなら問題ないでしょう。今回は、Standardを使いました。 Hyper-Vの準備 Hyper-Vは、役割の追加から準備できます。 サーバーマネージャーから、

PHP, IIS7Windows Azure の Token を入手した。 以前、Windows Azure SDK の環境を構築した後に SQL Server を再インストールしてしまっていたので、 Azure 用のデータベースの再作成はどのようにしたらいいのか？ Windows Azure SDK も新しくなっていたので再インストールしてみたが Create Databse などされない。結局、 Visual Studio で作成したアプリケーションが実行されるときに自動的に Create Database された。以前、作成したデータベースファイルが物理ファイルとして消されずに残っていたので、途中エラーがでたが、ファイルを削除したところ無事、再作成された。 * 上の画像ファイル格納のデモプログラムを以前実行した際のデータベースの様子 さそく Power

Hifile I am trying to deploy a java application running in tomcat into azure dev fabric. I have been able to do this. 先日のエントリで書いた通り、最近はAmazon EC2を本格的に使うために色々試しているところです。Amazon EC2でのノウハウも溜りつつあり、世の中的にも事例が徐々に出てきていますが、すこし前に26台まとめて吹き飛ぶといった、クラウドのデメリットも徐々に表に出てきつつあります。 この手のデメリットはクラウドを使う以上は本質的に避けがたいのですが、その時のためにもAmazonの奮起に期待するとか、なんとかバッドノウハウでカバーする、というだけではなく、そもそも別のクラウド事業者をいざという時の選択肢として確保しておきたいところです。 選択肢となりえるクラウドサービスは、国内でもいくつか登場してきていますが、今回は、ちょっと伏兵的なWindows Azureの可能性を試してみました。(Google App Engineは、さすがに環境が特殊すぎるので過去の資産がある立場としては、選択する
