フランクフルト・ブックフェアで次期EPUBの概要発表
10月12日、アメリカの電子書籍標準化団体の一つ、IDPFのLiza Daly委員（Threepress Consulting社長）はフランクフルト国際ブックフェアで行なった次期EPUB3（旧：EPUB 2.1）に関する講演の内容をウェブに公開した。 興味深いプレゼンなので内容を簡単に要約して紹介する。 ■解説音声付き 目的 世界の多種類の言語、ネーティブ・マルチメディア、 スクリプトによる対話性、高度なレイアウト等のサポートに必要な規格を制定する。 ePUB3制定へのプロセス 2010年4月に憲章を制定して作業をスタート、6月にニューヨークで第1回会合を行った。夏までに各種要求出揃う。2011年の第1四半期にドラフト・フォー・コメント（最終案）を公開し、標準化採択は2011年第2四半期を目標としている。 多言語サポート 縦書きレイアウト、双方向のページ進行、ルビ、外字のサポートを行う。C
