アメリカの掲示板で最近知ったアメリカスラングで、時代についていけない、最新の技術にコミットしない人たちのことを”floppy”と呼ぶらしい。もちろん、老人が多い増田なら気づいているだろうが、語源はフロッピーディスクからきている。 なぜフロッピーなのか？海外でも「昔フロッピーディスクというものがあって……」などと昔を懐かしむ老人が多いらしい。増田でもEZWebやらADSLやら、今では使われていない過去の技術をネタにして笑いをとる風潮がある。外国では、そうした一定の年齢層以上でしか通じない話をすることはコミュニケーションを取るつもりがない、といった態度で取られるそうだ。それゆえに、時代に取り残された人、ついていけない人という意味で”floppy”な人と呼ばれたりする。 ……というのは全部嘘で、そんなスラングは存在しない。少しでも騙されてくれた人がいれば嬉しいと思う。ペラペラに薄い嘘増田でした。
