頓智ドットは、Facebookと位置情報を活用したソーシャルアプリ「domo」をiPhone/Android向けに公開した。iPhone版はApp Storeで、Android版はAndroidマーケットで配信されており、価格は無料。グローバルに配信されるアプリで、現状は英語版のみとなる。 domoは、自分の周囲にいるユーザーの興味や関心を可視化し、同じ興味を持つユーザーを探したり、気になるユーザーと交流したりできるアプリ。興味・関心のデータとして、ユーザーがFacebookに登録した各種プロフィール情報をインポートして利用する。 アプリを立ち上げると、端末の位置情報に基づいて、周辺に登録されているユーザーの情報や、周囲のユーザーの関心がアプリに表示される。例えば同じ趣味を持っているなど、気になったユーザーに対しては、「domo」ボタンで挨拶をしたり、メッセージを送ったりすることができる。
台湾に本社を置く端末メーカー・HTCは15日、アンドロイドをベースにした“Facebookフォン”2機種やタブレット端末1機種を含む、計6機種の新端末を発表した。いち早くアンドロイドOS採用の端末を発売し、急激な成長を遂げているHTC。今度はSNSとの本格的な融合を他社に先駆けて進めることで、ミドルレンジ以上のスマートフォン市場でさらなる差別化を図る。 6機種の新端末を一気に発表したHTCだが、なかでも注目は“Facebookフォン”2機種。Facebook本社すら存在を否定してきたFacebook特化型の端末が、ついに登場した。OSはアンドロイド 2.3.3。2.3のバグ修正を含む最新版だ。海外では4月から5月にかけて発売される見込み。 2機種の名称は「HTC ChaCha」(QWERTYキーボード付き)と「HTC Salsa」(フルタッチ型)。最大の特徴は、本体下部に備わる「f」ボタン
