NECがクラスタ型データベースの性能予測手法を開発，大規模システムの性能要件定義を支援
NECは9月25日，クラスタ型データベース「Oracle Real Application Clusters」を対象とした性能予測手法を開発したと発表した。この手法は，クラスタ型データベースの処理効率低下の主要因であるサーバ間のデータコピー量を理論的に見積もるというもの。従来はデータベースシステム構築後に行っていた定量的な性能評価を，設計段階で検証できるようになる。 今回，クラスタ型データベースシステム内でのデータコピー発生を見積るための解析モデルを新たに開発した。データベースの動作は，ユーザが発行するＳＱＬによって指定される検索条件・更新条件によって確率的に変化するとされる。そこでＳＱＬを発行するアプリケーションの特徴を分析し，確率的な特徴を規定するパラメータを抽出して動作モデルを作り，複数のサーバを用いたシステム全体の性能を予測する。 最近の基幹業務システムは，ウェブ層，アプリケーショ
