WordPress.comの運営会社、TumblrをVerizon Mediaから買収
米Verizonのメディア事業、Verizon Media Groupは8月12日（現地時間）、傘下のTumblrを米Automatticに売却することで合意したと発表した。取引条件は明らかにされていない。米Axiosによると、買収総額は2000万ドル（約21億円）を「はるかに下回る」という。 Automatticはオープンソースのブログ作成ツールWordPress.comを運営している。Automatticは、買収完了後、TumblrをWordPress.comやJetpackなどのサービスラインアップに追加するとのみ説明した。 Tumblrは2007年創業のブログサービス。2013年に米Yahoo!に約11億ドルで買収され、2016年に米Yahoo!をVerizonが買収したことでVerizon傘下になった。創業者のデビッド・カープ氏は2017年に退社している。Verizon Medi
