半角「ABCDE」と全角「あいうえお」、どちらも5を返す。IEは6.0、FireFoxは2.0.0.8、Operaは9.24で確認した（また、以下に記述している挙動も全てこのバージョンで確認）。 プログラムで重要なのは文字数ではなくバイト数であることが多いので、これは困った仕様だ。バイト数を返すプロパティも用意して欲しいが、無いようなので仕方がない。自分で作ろう。
