Running WindowsXP on VirtualBox on Ubuntu Karmic
Recently installed the latest alpha of Karmic and thought I'd give it a shot with VirtualBox and Windows XP. Ubuntu 9.10 (KarmicKoala) の起動時間を ubuntu-boot/ppa で短縮する : Serendip – Webデザイン・プログラミング
PPA : “Ubuntu Boot” team 改善されたという Ubuntu 9.10 (KarmicKoala) の起動時間をさらに短縮することができるパッケージということらしい。 ただし、カスタムの kernel と readahead をインストールするようなので、試してみるのは自己責任で。 ubuntu-boot/ppa のインストール $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-boot/ppa $ sudo aptitude update $ sudo aptitude dist-upgrade インストール後、2回再起動する (pack file を作成し、起動時に読み込ませるため)。 Dell の Latitude D600 (1.6G PentiumM, 1GB RAM, 30GB HDD) にインストールして試してみた。 自動起動するよ
