人の骨は生きており、毎年全体の約20~30%が吸収され同じ量の骨が作られていきます。骨を吸収する細胞のことを破骨細胞(はこつさいぼう)、骨を作る細胞のことを骨芽細胞(こつがさいぼう)と呼びます。破骨細胞が古い骨を吸収し、そこに骨芽細胞が新しい骨を作ることによって我々の骨は強度を保つようになっています。骨粗鬆症(こつそしょうしょう)とは、何らかの原因でこのバランスが崩れ、骨の吸収が亢進(こうしん)するか骨の形成が低下して全体の骨の量が少なくなっていった病態と考えられます。骨粗鬆症の治療では骨の量が減少した原因や現在の生活状態に応じた治療の選択が重要です。 また、骨の減少そのものを改善することが難しい場合には、薬物のみを服用するのではなく、転倒予防のために運動器の機能改善を考える必要があります。生きている骨の仕組みを理解して病態に合った治療と運動器全体の機能を考えて生活指導をすることで、寝たき
