給料もらって勉強して起業させてもらえるプログラム
スタンフォード大学のBiodesign Fellowshipという1年の奨学金プログラム。対象領域は医療機器、です。 Biodesignは医学部と工学部の学際学部、Bio-Xの一部門。奨学生は年間４-８人程度の少数精鋭ながら、過去7年間分の生徒の母集団から、外部からの増資に成功したベンチャーが１０社誕生。なお、冒頭の写真はBio-Xの校舎。NetscapeファウンダーのJim Clarkが工事費の相当額を寄付したのでClark Centerと呼ばれている。 以下、同プログラムのサイトと、半年ほど前にこのプログラムの推進者であるところのDr. Yockに伺った話を基にしてます。 さて、これまで生まれたベンチャーの内訳は・・ Kerberos： 買収 InnoSpice： 買収 NeoGuide： シリーズC増資 Acumen： シリーズB増資 Stemcor Systems： シリーズA増資
