ウェブサイト上での、ゲームを含むインタラクティブコンテンツやアニメーションを実現する規格として長く親しまれてきた「Flash」。提供元のAdobeは、その再生に必要なプラグイン「Adobe Flash Player」の更新および提供を2020年末で終了する。ウェブブラウザの安定性やセキュリティへの懸念があることが主な理由だ。すでに主要ウェブブラウザでは、サポートやプリインストールを取りやめたり、インストールしてもデフォルトでは無効にする措置を取っており、代替技術であるHTML5などのサポートに移行している。 Flashはゲームプラットフォームでもあり、これまでに数多くの作品が制作されてきたが、Adobe Flash Playerのサポート終了は、そうしたゲームが事実上プレイできなくなることを意味する。そうしたなか、Flashを用いたウェブゲームの保存をおこなうプロジェクト「Flashpoi
