李明博（イ・ミョンバク）大統領が最近、「見習うべき企業」と絶賛した日本のゲーム会社「任天堂」が、韓国に奇襲攻撃を仕掛けました。任天堂は最近、韓国を中国やメキシコなどともに、「違法コピーが横行している国」として、米国通商代表部（USTR）に報告したのです。残念ながらこれは、事実に反するものではありません。 韓国の小学生たちが持ち歩いている携帯型ゲーム機「ニンテンドーDS」の多くに、違法コピーされたゲームソフトが使用されているからです。 しかし、任天堂の今回の措置は、韓国を無視した不当な仕打ちだという指摘が出ています。 任天堂は製品を売ることだけに汲々（きゅうきゅう）とし、韓国市場をターゲットにした活動はほとんど行わずに突然米国政府に訴えたのです。USTRは毎年4月、通商法の「スペシャル301条」に基づいて『外国貿易障壁報告書』を作成し、各国の知的財産権の保護の状況について発表しています

macosxhints で、iPhone '09 のライブラリパッケージに含まれる SQLite データベース（face_blob.db、face.db、iPhotoAux.db、iPhotoMain.db）をバキュームしてスピードアップする方法が紹介されています。 macosxhints.com - Speed up iPhoto '09 by vacuuming its databases ターミナルから cd "~/Pictures/iPhoto Library" for dbase in *.db; do sqlite3 $dbase "vacuum;"; done と実行する。 まだ、iPhoto '09 に移行出来ていないので、試すことは出来ていませんが、コメント欄では、かなり高速になったと書かれています。 今後、バキューム用の GUI ツールが出てきそうな気はしますね。
