プロの技術を学んだディープラーニングが画像を美しくレタッチ
グーグルおよびMIT CSAIL（コンピュータ科学・人工知能研究所 ）は8月1日、ディープラーニングを用いてプロの写真家のような自動レタッチや高解像度化する技術を発表した。 明るさ不足や色調がおかしい写真を自動補正するアプリは既に存在するものの、元々が低解像度の画像はレタッチするための元情報が不足している場合が多い。新たなアプローチでは、画像の高解像度にアップサンプリングして画像の各成分を抽出、どの画像成分をどのようにレタッチするかを判断する。 この際、Adobeが公開している「元画像画像と、プロがレタッチ（現像）した後の画像」のデータセットを用い、どのような画像であればどのようにレタッチすればよいのかを機械学習させた。 画像の変換アルゴリズムそのものは非常にコンパクトにまとまっており、スマホのCPUやメモリーといった小規模なリソースでも即座にレタッチ結果が得られるという。
