福島第１原発：政府、レベル７検討…最も深刻 - 毎日ｊｐ(毎日新聞)
政府の原子力安全委員会は１１日、福島第１原発事故について、１時間当たり最大１万テラベクレル（テラベクレルは１兆ベクレル）の放射性物質を放出していたとの見解を示した。 数万テラベクレルは原発事故の深刻度を示す国際原子力事象評価尺度（ＩＮＥＳ）の最も深刻なレベル７にあたる。今回の事故は数時間の放出でレベル７に相当するため、現在レベル５としている政府は、引き上げの検討に入った。 過去に発生したレベル７の事故には８６年のチェルノブイリ原発事故がある。 原発事故による影響の度合いを考慮する際には、ＩＮＥＳは、程度の低いほうから、レベル０～７までの８段階に分類されている。スリーマイル島原発事故（７９年、米国）はレベル５、茨城県東海村で起きたＪＣＯ臨界事故（９９年）はレベル４とされている。
